What Counts as a Picture for Vector Conversion?

By picture we mean artwork: illustrations, cartoons, clip art, watercolor or marker pieces, posters and digital paintings. These have outlines and color regions an artist can interpret. Camera photographs are a different job, covered on our photo page. With a picture, the goal is to keep the artist’s style, the swell of a brush line or the shape of a highlight, while making every part editable.

  • Brush and pen character preserved
  • Highlights and shadows as separate shapes
  • Each color group on its own layer

A Watercolor Drink Ready for the Menu

Paint → vector

Example: a café owner has a watercolor-style drink illustration as a small JPG and wants it on menus, cups and a window decal.

The brief
Keep the loose painted look of the glass and mint, but make it print sharply at menu size and cut cleanly as a decal.
What we do
An artist rebuilds the washes as layered translucent shapes and redraws the lime slices and leaves with crisp edges.
What you receive
A full-color AI and EPS, a simplified two-color SVG for the decal, plus PDF and PNG files.

Picture to Vector Conversion FAQ

It is recreating an illustration, cartoon or other artwork as a vector file. An artist redraws its outlines and color areas as editable shapes, so the picture can be resized, recolored and printed on anything without blurring. It suits drawn and painted designs rather than camera photographs.

Pricing starts at $7 per image for a simple illustration with a few colors. Detailed paintings, busy scenes and artwork with heavy shading take longer and cost more. Upload the picture and we email the exact price; work starts once payment is made.

A picture is already artwork, so we preserve its drawn style. A photo has no outlines, so turning it into a vector means deciding how much detail to keep and inventing the shapes. That is why photos have their own page, with different examples and pricing.

Yes. We can keep brush texture as layered shapes, suggest it with a few irregular edges, or simplify to flat color. Tell us how the file will be used, because a screen-printed shirt usually needs fewer colors than a large poster print.

Only if you own it or hold a licence that allows changes and reproduction. Many images online belong to illustrators who sell them. If you have bought a licence, send it with the picture and we will convert it for the uses that licence permits.

Yes, provided you hold the rights to the original picture. After payment, the finished vector artwork can be signed over to you in full on request. You receive AI, EPS, SVG, PDF and PNG files, two free revisions and the protection of our 100% money-back guarantee.
